Jewellery Trends in the Philippines



Number of Filipino consumers use jewellery as an investment is picking up, the category saw healthier growth in 2016. The image-consciousness of consumers was further motivated by the growth of disposable incomes, modern lifestyles and social status. Filipino consumers from different income groups are attracted to purchase jewellery as part of the culture that it strengthens oneˇ¦s femininity or masculinity.

In the high-end jewellery category in the country, Tiffany & Co took the lead and accounted for a 4% value share in 2015. This can be explained by the influence of affluent consumers wooing multiple pieces of luxury fine jewellery.

Starting from 2017 jewellery sales is expected to increase in the next five years in light of increasing incomes and rising image-consciousness. Consumers are expected to continue to update their accessories with the latest trends and designs of jewellery. At the same time, both well-off consumers and the middle-income group act as a catalyst for fine jewellery sales in the next five years.
